Terms of service
In short
- limequiz lets a presenter run live quizzes and workshops. Participants join with a code and a nickname, with no account.
- You need to be 18 or older to create an account, and if you use limequiz for a school, employer or client, you confirm you are allowed to.
- You own your content. Don't upload illegal content or other people's personal data, and don't put pupils' personal data into AI features.
- If an organisation uses limequiz with participants' data, the data processing agreement applies.
- You can report content, and we tell you why if we remove yours (section 8).
- You can cancel and delete your account at any time.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
limequiz is run by a self-employed person in Spain ("we", "limequiz"). How to reach us is in the Legal notice.
These terms apply when you use limequiz.com and the limequiz apps and tools, including the MCP server: as a presenter (someone with an account), or as a participant (someone who joins a room). Using limequiz means accepting these terms. If you don't accept them, please don't use it.
An organisation is the school, company, trainer or other body on whose behalf a presenter runs a room.
2. Accounts
- You sign in with Google or with a link we email you. Keep your sign-in method and any API tokens private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- You must be 18 or older. limequiz is not offered to children as account holders.
- If you use limequiz for a school, employer, client or other organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to do so and to accept these terms for it. Teachers should use limequiz only as their school allows.
- Give us a real email address so that we can reach you about your account.
- We keep the date you created your account. Together with the dated versions of these terms, it shows which version you accepted.
3. Plans
limequiz has a Free plan. Its limits, such as the number of people per room, are shown on your Account page and may change. We will tell you before a change that makes your plan worse.
4. Running a room
- Participants join without an account. They give a first name or nickname. Presenters can rename or remove participants.
- The organiser is responsible for its participants. It decides why and how their data is used, tells them, and has a lawful basis for doing so. A school is responsible to its pupils and their families. limequiz processes the data on the organiser's behalf under the data processing agreement.
- Participants should not share personal details. The join screen only asks for a name and suggests a first name.
- Results belong to the organiser. Results stay visible to the presenter and, where the presenter chooses, on the projector. Presenters should not publish results that identify children.
5. Your content
- It stays yours. You keep all rights in the quizzes, questions, images and files you put into limequiz. Participants keep the rights in their own answers.
- Our permission to run it. You give us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive permission to store, process and show your content, and to make the technical copies needed, only to provide limequiz to you. It ends when your content is deleted, apart from backups that expire on their own.
- We do not use it for ourselves. We do not use your content or participants' data to train AI models, for advertising or for profiling. Our AI provider does not train on it either.
- You are responsible for it. You confirm that you have the rights to what you upload and that it follows section 7.
6. AI features
limequiz can generate questions from a topic, notes or a PDF, improve a question, and sort sticky notes by idea. To do that, we send what you provide, and for sticky notes the text of the notes, to our AI provider, Anthropic, which processes it in the United States (see the sub-processor list). Anthropic deletes it after at most 30 days (longer only for content it flags as breaking its usage policy) and does not train on it.
- Review before you use. AI output can be wrong, biased or out of date. You are responsible for checking every question before you run it.
- Do not put personal data in. Do not put pupils' personal data, other people's personal data, or special categories of data (health, beliefs, and similar) into prompts or uploads.
- Sticky notes are the only participant answers sent to the AI. With «Group by idea when shown» on (the default), the notes' text goes, without saying who wrote them, to sort the notes by idea and to mark hurtful ones, which «Automatic moderation of answers and words» then hides. Turn grouping off on the block to keep the notes out. limequiz does not use AI to grade or score participants.
- Generating quizzes is limited by your plan, and we may limit or stop misuse.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use limequiz to:
- upload, share or display illegal content, or content that infringes other people's rights;
- create content that sexualises or exploits minors, or that shows or promotes violence, hatred or discrimination;
- harass, threaten or expose anyone, including through nicknames, questions or answers;
- upload other people's personal data without a lawful basis, or collect participants' personal data beyond a first name or nickname;
- impersonate a person or organisation, or mislead people about who runs a room;
- spread malware, scrape the service, attack it, bypass its limits, or run load tests without our written permission;
- resell or share access in a way that goes against your plan.
We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules, following section 8.
8. Reporting content and how we moderate
Contact point. For users, authorities and anyone else, our single point of contact under the EU Digital Services Act is hello@limequiz.com. You can write in Spanish or English.
Report content. If you think something on limequiz is illegal or breaks section 7, email us at hello@limequiz.com. A useful report says why you think the content is illegal or against these terms, where to find it (room code, quiz link), and your name and email, unless the report concerns child sexual abuse material, where you may stay anonymous. We confirm we received your report and tell you our decision.
What we do. A person at limequiz reads each report. We look at the report and, where needed, the content, and decide whether to remove it, disable it or take no action. We do not use automated systems to decide whether to remove content or close accounts. Inside rooms, «Automatic moderation of answers and words», which the presenter can switch off, refuses hurtful words and hides sticky notes the AI marks as hurtful (section 6); the presenter can show a hidden note again. Presenters can also rename or remove participants and content in their own rooms. We prioritise reports involving children or risks to safety, and may report suspected serious crimes to the authorities.
If we act on your content or account. Whenever we remove or disable content, or suspend or close an account, we tell the person concerned, with a short statement of reasons: what we did and for how long, the facts behind it, whether it followed a report or our own check, whether automated means were used, which rule it is based on, and how to challenge it. You can reply to ask us to reconsider, use an out-of-court dispute settlement body, or go to court. We do not tell you where the law forbids it or where we have no way to contact you.
Repeat and abusive reports. If someone often sends manifestly unfounded reports, we warn them first, and we may then stop handling their reports.
9. Personal data
Our Privacy policy explains how we handle personal data as controller, for example for accounts and billing.
When you run a room, the organisation you act for (your school, employer or client, or you, if you act for yourself) is the controller of participants' data, and limequiz is its processor. The data processing agreement is part of these terms for that organisation, and you accept it for it by accepting these terms. Schools and larger organisations can ask us for a signable copy at hello@limequiz.com.
10. The service
We work to keep limequiz available and secure, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted or free of errors. Live sessions depend on the internet connections of everyone in the room. We may change or improve limequiz, and we will give notice before removing a feature you rely on. The Free plan comes without a fixed service level.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or the rights that consumers have under Spanish and EU law.
Beyond that, for customers acting for a business or organisation: we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profit, lost business or lost data that you could have backed up, and our total liability for any one claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event (or €100 on the Free plan).
You are responsible for your content and for how you use limequiz, including toward participants and other people.
12. Ending your use
- You can stop at any time. You can delete your account from the Account page. If other people are members of a workspace you own, write to us first and we'll help you hand it over.
- Export first. Export what you need before you delete it. When you delete your account, we delete your account data at once. Backups roll over within 30 days.
- We may end things too. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, following section 8. We may stop offering the Free plan or limequiz itself with at least 30 days' notice.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for valid reasons: a change in the law, in the service, in security needs or in the providers we use. For a material change, we email presenters at least 30 days ahead. Using limequiz after the change takes effect means accepting it. If you don't accept it, you can stop and delete your account without penalty.
14. How the contract is made (LSSI article 27)
- Steps. You enter your email or choose Google. The sign-in page tells you that continuing means accepting these terms and the Privacy policy, with links to both. With email, you confirm with the link we send. Then your account exists. Paid plans have one more step at Paddle's checkout, where you can review and correct your details before paying.
- Filing. We keep the date your account was created and every dated version of these terms. The current terms are always at limequiz.com/legal/terms, and you can save or print them.
- Languages. Spanish and English. If they differ, the Spanish text prevails.
- Correcting mistakes. You can edit your account details at any time, and Paddle's checkout lets you correct entry errors before you pay.
15. If you are a consumer
If you use limequiz for personal reasons and not for a business or profession, you are a consumer. Nothing in these terms limits your mandatory rights under the Spanish consumer law (Real Decreto Legislativo 1/2007) or your country's law. If a term is unfair or invalid, the rest stays in force.
16. Governing law and courts
Spanish law governs these terms. Consumers may bring a claim in the courts of the place where they live, as the law allows. For everyone else, the courts of the owner's domicile in Spain have jurisdiction.
